Instagram is working on a new application dedicated to shopping. It will be called "IG Shopping" and will allow the service audience to view collections of goods from the sellers on which they are subscribed. It will also be possible to buy them directly in the application. Instagram declined to comment this information.
More than 25 million companies have instagram accounts, 2 million of them are advertisers, said Facebook CEO (owner of Instagram) Cheryl Sandberg in his latest profit report. Four out of five Instagram users follow at least one brand. The creation of a standalone application would allow the social network to provide a separate retail space and increase revenues.
