Hi, Traffic Cardinal community!
Today I’d like to share some knowledge about GMB optimization and ranking on Google Maps.
Step 1. Prepare your pics.
Go to your GMB (Google My Business), select “Manage photos”. You should upload at least 3 photos for each category (logo, interior, exterior, team, etc.) There must be about 20-30 photos in total. Choose the pics of high quality. If you are doing it for a client, you can pick the images from the website of the company. If there’s nothing appropriate, then you can use “Creative commons” service that offers free images to use (or just Google). For example, you can search there for some general phrases: “dental care” “Thai food”, “manicure”, etc. Then you should edit the pics - just change something so that they would be different photos.
Well, it’s also important to rename the pics - use LSI keywords. Go to “Properties” of the file and complete all sections: put your URL as a tag, type photo description in “subject” section (e.g. “Dr. Boshara is doing laser skin resurfacing”), click 5 stars for rating.
Step 2: Use pics to make rich media citations.
Add location details to every photo and set them to public on Google Plus.
Put your citation and social links into caption (don’t forget about phone number and other business details).
Share every photo on Google Plus and add more branding information about the company.
Step 3: Build social backlinks out of your photos.
In your Google+ business profile choose option “Embed post” for photos which are connected to Google Maps and embed them on your website.
Use the photo’s link to syndicate on social media and IFTTT networks. I would recommend to use as many platforms as possible there. Don’t forget about Twitter, Pinterest, image sharing websites.
